Author Observations- Robin Jones Gunn

I decided for this post, I would do one of my sister's all-time favorite authors, Robin Jones Gunn. Now, don't get me wrong, I really enjoy her writing, too. I just read a lot more romance authors than Ruby Mae does and I'm constantly finding new authors.

Robin's books have been around for several years. My mom read them when she was a teenager and my grandma really enjoys several of her series.

Her books are light-hearted and realistic. They focus on more modern characters and their lives. A lot of her books connect characters from different series. Her books are airy and easy to read, besides being from a Christian perspective. Her main character, Christy Miller, was always one of my heroines. I always wanted to be like her.

Most of Robin's characters live in California and Hawaii, with some in other places. Her best stories are always situated at the beach.

Her series include:

-The Christy Miller series- twelve books in all, the original stories

-The Christy and Todd College Years- only a three book series

-The Christy and Todd Married Years- a three book series

-The Christy and Todd Baby Years- also a three book series

-The Sierra Jensen series- a twelve book series, focusing on a friend of Christy's

-The Katie Weldon series- a four book series that focuses on Christy's best friend

-The Sisterchicks series- my grandma's favorite of these books, stories focusing on different pairs of women that travel around the world

-The Glenbrooke series- my personal favorites, a series of different romances about people that all somehow end up in Glenbrooke, Oregon

-The Haven Makers series- I haven't read these, so I'm not sure what they're about, but I think they might be about Christy and her adult friends

Robin also has several other standalone books. One of my favorites is called Praying for Your Future Husband. Her other standalones are a mixture of novels and nonfiction. Her Christy Miller and Sierra Jensen series are good for middle to high schoolers, while her other books are about college students and adults.

I really enjoy her books immensely and would highly recommend them to anyone.
