As I get closer and closer to the end of my time living with my family, realize more and more how much I'll miss them. I leave for England in two weeks. These past months have sped by and now the time for leaving has crept up on me. I'll get another post out in a few days as to what I'll be doing in England, but for now, I'll be sharing some photos of what went on last week.
The Kenyan coast is very different from the South Carolina coast, where our family visits when we're in the States. For starters, it's an entirely different ocean. The Kenyan coast is bordered by the Indian ocean. Up and down the coast, there are different sections of coral reefs and tide pools filled with beautiful fish, starfish, corals, lobsters, sea urchins, jellyfish and so much more sea life.
Earlier in the year, we had decided that we would visit the coast and have a family vacation once more before I left. We hadn't been there in four years, and it was time for another visit. Mom booked an Airbnb and we prepared to make the 9.5 hour journey to Watamu.
We spent a wonderful time as a family there, swimming in the pool, walking around Watamu, and visiting the beach. We visited another missionary further up the coast one day for lunch and went out on a boat and went snorkeling in the reef another. We had fish several times, as the house had a cook that made the most delicious fish. We also visited the ruins of Gedi, an old Swahili town.
Here are some of the photos I took that week, since there are too many to post them all!
