Hello everyone!
I had more cool pictures I wanted to share from our trip last week, but the last post already contained more than my usual amount. These pictures are mostly from the Airbnb we stayed in while we were there. The house inside a fenced, gated neighborhood that has some 60 or so houses. The neighborhood is actually called a wildlife estate, which means that they have harmless animals that live inside the neighborhood and wander through yards and around houses. Some of the animals that can be found there include impala, Thompson's gazelle, warthog, oryx, bushbuck, common plains zebra, Grevy's zebra, monkeys, hares, and a multitude of birds.
And now for the update. Tomorrow, two of my siblings and I will be going down south to work with some missionaries for a couple weeks. If I have time to post during that time, I will, but otherwise, you might not hear from me for a couple weeks.
Photo #1- Trout Tree, a resturaunt built around a tree that serves mainly trout. One of their trout ponds can be seen at the bottom of the picture.
Photo #2- Marie, a young female colobus monkey that we were priveleged to feed potato peels at while at Trout Tree
Photo #3- A mother and young impala
Photo #4- A weaver bird
Photo #5- An attempt at breakfast in bed for Mom that failed miserably when she decided to come down too early. It became breakfast on the back porch instead.
Photo #6- A family of warthogs standing in the middle of the road. On the other side of the fence to the left is the Ol Pejeta Conservancy.
Photo #7- This is what warthogs do when they're scared! They run with their tails straight up in the air and it's so cute!
Photo #8- A slate colored boubou. As you can see, this bird is not very interesting in terms of color, but the noise it makes is beautiful! It's voice definitely makes up for its lack of color!
Photo #9- A sisal plant that had a cool pattern on its leaves. One of my younger siblings told me I should take a picture of it and the photo turned out pretty well, I think.
Photo #10- Weaver birds taking a bath
That's all folks! Enjoy the pictures, and as always, comment below with your favorites.
