Last Sunday, two of my little brothers got two new pets of their own, making it so that everyone except one brother has a pet of some sort. These will most likely be our last animal additions since the only brother without a pet doesn't want one and our parents won't get anymore animals.
One of these brothers has been wanting a hedgehog for nearly half of his life, so when he was told he was getting a hedgehog, he cried because he was so happy! The other had been wanting a hamster for some time, since he was one of the only ones without a pet.
I took their Christmas photos earlier this week and wanted to share them with you.
I still have yet to do the cats. They aren't very cooperative, so I don't know if I'll even be able to do them at all.
As for whether or not I'll be going to Capernwray, I got some good news last Friday. Capernwray has given me the approval to attend the second term of Winter School! I will be leaving January 8, which is actually a day later than I was supposed to, but ticket prices were half the price a day later. Some friends were able to take a suitcase to Capernwray for me last week, so I'll have one less piece of luggage to keep up with.
And without further ado, here are the new additions to the family!
Mrs. Tiggywinkle (what else can you name a female hedgehog?!) is a young female African white-bellied hedgehog from Northern Kenya. She's a curious little hedgie who doesn't hesitate to let anyone know when she thinks you're too close. She's easily surprised since she doesn't have great eyesight, but she does have a good sense of smell and her snout is always wiggling.
Einstein is a young male winter white dwarf hamster. He didn't like being held when he first arrived, but since he's gotten used to human attention. He's a fast little guy, zipping around mazes the boys build for him and trying his best to escape. Peanuts and sunflower seeds in the shell are some of his favorite treats. He was very hard to photograph since he wouldn't hold still!
