Photography Friday

Hello all! I'm back with photos from the past couple weeks. Some of these pictures are from two weeks ago and some are from last Saturday when we went to the Nairobi National Park.

The Nairobi National Park is a game park found within the city of Nairobi. Spanning almost 80,000 acres, NNP is the only national park found within a capital city. Unfortunately, it has been raining a lot and the roads were terribly muddy since they're dirt. We weren't able to get very far in our van since we don't have four wheel drive or very high ground clearance.

And the animals all seemed to be where we couldn't get to. Normally we see many giraffe, zebra, warthogs, and wildebeest. This time we didn't see a single zebra, wildebeest, or warthog. We did see a few giraffe, three rhinos, and some ostriches. We also saw a lot of impala, a common gazelle here, and birds. In the ponds we passed, we were fortunate to see hippos and crocodiles. But otherwise, it was kind of a let down.

So the zebra you see in this post aren't from the game park, but from the side of the road when we tried to go on vacation a couple weeks ago. The rain happened to ruin that, too. The road to the house we were staying in wasn't very good and we were liable to get stuck. So we came home two days early after staying only one night. I did get some interesting photos, though.
